Region 4 Report

October Report for Region 4

Melissa Wolff was elected the new director of region 4 at the membership meeting in McGregor. Charlie Gaines was elected associate director to assist her with trail rides.

We are very fortunate to have these new leaders who have a lot of expertise to offer. The region should really prosper under their leadership. Melissa is an auditor for the Texas Lottery commission and should be a great asset to the Board of Directors and the new Officers. She rides weekly and spends a lot of time at Lake Benbrook . She and Charlie have already planned a ride for Feb.at Lake Ray Hubbard. The details are on the web site tetratrails.com ..

Charlie is a retired engineer-technician and has helped several ride organizations to get grants, build trails ,lead rides, and has recently been very active with the Trinity Trails organization at Lake Lavon. Tracy Matern, their new president , has stated that Charlie has been one of the main people that has helped their membership to grow significantly this past couple of years and has been a key in their trail development at Lavon. He knows most of the trails available in the area as well as being active in working with the Corp of Engineers and officials at Texas Parks and Wildlife and the U.S. Forest Service..

Region 4 is one of the most populated areas in Tetra and with this new and capable leadership we can expect our region to become one of the best in Tetra. We have new trails that will be developed at Benbrook and Lake Joe Pool that should add to our riding pleasure soon. Benbrook has already began construction and Joe Pool will start this year. . .

At the Membership Meeting, Tetra President , John Allen , gave Becky Kuban an award for her work of furnishing the Board of Directors with an audit of their financial records for the past three years, Allen also awarded Kevin Arnold for his work on improving the tetratrails.com web site and he gave Gayla Waits an award for her work in obtaining a grant from the Corp of Engineers amounting to a total of $29,000 for trail development at Lake Benbrook. Dr. Melinda Crenwelge was elected as 1st vice - president. However, she and her family have now moved to another region but they contributed greatly to support our region while living in McKinney.. . We are proud of these region 4 members who worked so hard for the benefit of all Tetra.
